"Having a small, rural, friendly atmosphere, the village of Lewisburg has the luxury of location, because the village is just minutes from larger cities. Located in Preble County, Lewisburg is just north of Interstate 70 and is accessible by state Route 503 and U.S. Route 40. The location allows for a taste of country but the convenience of neighboring activities and employment, as the village is about 23 miles from downtown Dayton. Lewisburg was the first Preble County village to secure self-government by incorporating in 1830 with a population of about 144 residents. The current population of the village has grown to more than 1,800. New residential subdivisions continue to flourish and bring moderate housing options into the area. Apple Valley subdivision has a few lots still available, as does the North Creek and Hawks Landing subdivisions. With easy access to the interstate, Lewisburg has properties zoned for commercial and industrial growth and development. The village has several medium-size industries, including a package-container facility and large trucking company to suit the logistical demands for future industry, all within a few block radius of the village."
