"The village of Arcanum has seen a small population boom as about 100 more residents live in the village since the 2000 Census. Located along Alternate state Route 49, the village of Arcanum has about 2,100 residents living within the village limit located in Darke County. In May, Old Fashioned Days was the village's biggest annual event. Held the third full weekend in May, the event is sponsored by the Business Association. The downtown area streets are closed for rides, booths and concessions. The annual event features king and queen contests, a parade, a car show, duck races, a tractor show and entertainment. The Arcanum-Butler school district has two buildings within the village limits. The high school and elementary are located in town, while the middle school is located on state Route 127."
